*****EDIT*****

It looks as of everything is OK.....FOX signed the cast!!!! --- OOPS should have read it first, as of this edit Billy & John DiMaggio have not signed yet. I'm hoping that they just haven't got in touch with them et......

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118006765.html?categoryid= 14&cs=1

http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/674841

SECOND EDIT:

It looks like Billy and John have signed but ..... It's not completely over.  Lauren Tom and Phil Lamar and other supporting cast members have a battle going on with FOX about their pay.  We need everyone back ..... Come on FOX get it right already!!!!!!

All,

If you are like me and want our original voices on Futurama please go sign this petition:

http://www.petitiononline.com/futura13/petition.html

I have sent the link to this email address:

FUTURAMA@SCOTTMULLERCASTING.COM

Which I think is doing the casting for futurama!!!!

Let them know we do not want any imitations, we want the originals!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!

My reply from the casting place:

This is an Automated Response:

Thank you for your submission for the casting of Futurama. Please note the following:

1.  We will do our best to answer any emailed questions, but questions from agencies and managers will take priority.

2.  If you are submitting an AUDIO AUDITION it MUST be a reading of the sides with your best match of the established characters, NOT a general VO Demo. Unfortunately, general VO demos will not be helpful for the re-casting of established characters.

3. Audio auditions MUST be in MP3 format. UPDATE: Good news everyone! I'll accept M4a auditions as well, due to overwhelming demand.

If you did not follow the above guidelines, no worries, just submit again following those guidlines.

The sides can be found on Sides Express or at the following link:

http://www.mysticla.com/Futurama/FuturamaSides.zip

The sides have links to clips of the show for use as reference.

When reading, please consider not only the voice, but the comedy as well. Auditions will be accepted until at least July 24th, 2009.

Thanks!!

Scott

I hope this is not going to happen .....

i'm not doing anything other than raising awareness of the problem with people i know right now. so far (i only found out yesterday)i have 100 friends who watched and bought futurama products, if any cast changes happen, that will all end. and i will keep letting everyone know.

this is a stupid decision to make for a show with a rabid fanbase.
but the current talent should get whatever they ask.
if any are asking for less than $150,000 they're doing fox a HUGE favour

I didn't audition but I filled their inbox up with garbage e-mails. And I signed them up for lots of spam, mostly porn. WESTICLES ATTACK!

That's a good idea.

I don't think this is a good idea. As much as I would like to do this I want them to take this seriously and by going the "porno spam" route I think will hurt us more then help us......

BTW they are just the casting company, it is 20th Century FOX TV that has hired them .......

But I'm not saying you should spam FOX .......

Tommy

Yeah I agree with Tommy. As cathartic as sending porno spam might be, it'll decrease the slim chance that the powers that be might actually read/pay attention to the legitimate emails that are protesting the recasting.

Also...does anybody know who would be good to send emails to over at 20th century Fox TV? So far I've seen email addresses for the casting company, and people at MTV and Comedy Central, but no one from Fox.

Actually, we should beat up someone at FOX.
But that's just my opinion.

There's the snail mail address. I'd say for email
complaints, follow the format of firstname.lastname@fox.com
and email "Chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman." I don't
know if the press contacts will be receptive or not.

That brings up another point... I've always heard that snail mail is more effective than either email or online petitions.  Perhaps the powers that be respect someone's opinion more who puts more effort into voicing it.

That's possible.
Just about every nut on the planet has at least one e-mail address.

But it takes a special kind of person to spend the time to actually form not only coherent sentences, but to also address and place a stamp on an envelope for delivery by the US Postal service.
Then, of course, you also have to hope that said letter actually arrives at its destination.
