... SOMETHING!!

Craig Ferguson flat out asked her, "Is Futurama coming back."

she answered, "Yes".

Then he asked her to ellaborate and she said (para-phrased) "We're on Comedy Central. We just signed a deal".

He asked how many or something like that and she said, "16 or 13... I'm not sure. I haven't seen the deal. I just said YES!"

So, I'm deducing that she's either confusing the Comedy Central sydication purchase with the dvds we've heard about OR she's right and we're now going to get new episodes on Comedy Central.

No matter which it may be, the great part is that she confirmed that Futurama is coming back (which we already knew) and that she is already signed on to be a part of its return, while being enthused about it as well.

Great news. Had to share with everyone.

Also, Billy, Craig Ferguson seems to be a big time fan of the show so you could probably get an interview slot on his show. Just a suggestion.

i was always curious as to how enthusiastic Katey Sagal was about doing the show. So I guess she likes doing it.

awesome news though- thanks biggestbillwfan

It seems kinda odd that she would know something and billy wouldn't? I think its a good chance that this is just a misunderstanding.

Is this Late Late Show on later?

Even if she is getting this confused with the Comedy Central syndication purchase, its still great to hear news about Futurama.  Futurama will never die!  Thanks John.

Even the networks over here in Australia realised that the fan base of Futurama was huge, so they started airing episodes again on channel ten (also home to simpsons) only to be overridden by big brother.

The networks are starting to realise the inevitable, Futurama will make a comeback.  Though, I won't get too excited yet.

YAY.

I don't usulay agree with 'inevitableness', but in this case I'd say : DAMN RIGHT!

Also : I'd check that out myself, but they didn't upload the RM streaming for 'that' day(Tue, June.20.2006) on cbs.com yet.

Something to look forward too.  Who is Craig Ferguson?- I'll blame that on being Australian.  I've probably seen his face before because I do see early news broadcasts from America over here before I head off to work.  They air over here at about 4/5 am in the morning.

If you've seen episodes of The Drew Carey Show then you'd recognize him. He played Mr. Wick on the series.

He's also done some voice acting as well, most recently in an episode of American Dad.

If the deal was for Comedy Central to run exisiting Futurama episodes, it seems strange that they would need her permission or approval. If she knows of a deal signed with Comedy Central, and she said "yes" to something, then maybe these are for new episodes.

We can always hope, right?

Ah, I missed a lot of the interview. I wondered if they'd discuss Futurama.. cool. I wouldn't figure new episodes to premiere on Comedy Central though..

To note, for anyone who knows the cartoon "Freakazoid!", Craig Ferguson voiced Roddy MacStew

I was waiting for someone else to announce the show's return to television
so I wouldn't get clobbered if I had any information that was inaccurate!

Yes-- what Katey said is true so there is every reason now (with no
reservations) to go nuts.I'm glad to go back to work on my favorite show!
I'm sure I'll be on a bunch of shows to promote this.I've never seen Craig
Ferguson--what's his story?
Futurama lives!

I'm glad you're going back to work on your - and my - favorite show! This is fantastic news!!! I could watch the reruns until I die, but I'll take new ones anyday. Congrats, Billy. You guys rock, one and all. The best voice team ever in animated comedy history, and that ain't ass-kissin', it's the truth.

Ah, permission to go nuts feels so good.

I feel like running around naked... but there's no reason that my happiness should ruin everyone else's...

Ferguson's on after Letterman and he's apparantly a fan of Futurama (and Family Guy). I always enjoy him and his different take on the "late night talk show". Like TheBitterness said, he was on the Drew Carey Show.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! FUTURAMA!!!!!!!

... I lost control there for a moment.

This is news worth celebrating. Of course, over here we'll only get it if one of our broadcasters pick it up. Time to start a campaign. But first, a small celebratory drinkie.
Congrats to all concerned. Make 'em good, people.
