Its just so cool to see something happening, even if the details are a bit sketchy.

Don't fret, Billy. If anything, this most recent hoopla should at least help convince the Great Deciders that the Ignorant Masses WANT THEIR FUTURAMA BACK!
Keep up the snooping and the cajoling, and I'm confident that these last few days will be seen as the time when you prophecised the return of Futurama against the forces of evil.

What I think is Billy just needs a BIG HUG from all this mess that's been going on lately.
Lets still hope there will be straight to Futurama DVDs soon...

Even some DVD movies are good news. Thanks for taking the time to post the corrected information.
Who knows, they brought back 'Family Guy' and Futurama is a much better show. Maybe the folks at the network will get their craniums separated from their rectums and bring Futurama back too.

that's the way the world works unfortunately. they always have to cater to the lowest common denominator. that's why TLC now has shows about interior design instead of quantaum physics. futurama's fan base is made up of intelligent, sci-fi oriented people who can grasp complex jokes and subtle humor..whereas family guy (and you know I do like family guy too..just not nearly as much) caters more to fart-joke crowd (90% of the world)

'Family Guy' is a funny show that does cater to the less sophisticated. On the whole Futurama is funnier and it does have Billy too.
Futurama does cater more towards the science fiction audience, but the references aren't so obscure that the average person can't get them. It's not like they're making regular references to William Hartnell episodes of 'Dr.Who'.
I think the show had the misfortune of being shifted around a lot and pre-empted for football quite a bit. Hard for an audience to find a show when it's on at a different time every week. Or not on every week.
Fox just has a history of bringing off-beat shows to air... for about 15 minutes. I think you could have a pretty successful network with all the shows they cancelled too soon.
I think the early successes they had with 'The Simpsons' and 'X-Files' have made them a bit trigger happy. It's like they think that if something like Futurama (or Firefly) isn't a huge, immediate success then it will never be one. I think they forgot it took a little while for folks to find those shows.

Family Guy is so overrated. Remind me to post Jaime Weinman's expert analysis of Family Guy soon.
