QAPete,
Thank you for your post.Number one:I'm beginning to think ALL radio is
dead except for Air America Radio. There's a whole lot more at stake
there--like holding the line against government tyranny or an
approaching dictatorship of the Bush crime family 24-7.And fighting to
hold them accountable.Number two: I'd work there for free my
friend. There's plenty of charity work I lend my voice to raise funds for
various organizations. You act like all the things that you want more than
anything are non existant on the Stern show now. That's what you sound
like.I'm sure they don't feel like anything is missing but you do.Like
there's a vaccum or somthing.Your issue is with them not me.You and
nature may hate a vaccum, but it doesn't concern me.You have a lot to
learn about how the world works. Why do I continue to do M&M's????????
I 've had a very great contract and long standing relationship with them
for more than a decade.
In my business M&M's is a crucial account. For an adult with his own
business that's like blood to the body.Thank God I have lots of them. The
Stern show was NOT an account.I have to make as much money as I can
get to fund my own projects.Who'll pay for that? You? Do you want to fly
me to NY every week so I can yuck it up? What, are you saying I should
should quit yucking it up with my own friends? They're not as important
to yuck it up with as on a radio show? There is NO lack of wildness, rip it it
up laughter,f**ked up antics and voices in my world.I'll make that happen
wherever I go 'cause THAT'S WHAT I DO BEST.
Nothing lives in the past! I am not in the business of re-creating it
either.I'm a progressive.
You want to see how I would do in a new environment? What am I -a
guinea pig? A test pilot? That enviroment is basically the same
environment.Without me.
You should only come and see how I work a truly NEW environment every
day.Every day is ''opening night'' for me doing 5 shows a day in a different
theatres. (voice-over gigs)
I have no distaste for anything I've ever created! How dare you project
that onto me.
You'd make a terrible Jewish mother-you trying to guilt trip me is silly
and we both know it.
The ''psychology angle'' never works because I know that for me to live a
happy life I have to know that what someone thinks of me is really none
of my business.I am not obivious to anything.I can walk into a crowded
room and suss out everything in 10 seconds.Including you.
I appreciate your trying to help,
Billy West

Bush disses Bush and this world by his mere existance.Maybe I'll start a
whole other forum to really get down with this!
Thanks,

(You just reminded me that I need to carry on much more about this

No need to sugar coat it Billy, tell us how you really feel about Bush.
Think we'll ever find out where Fry's Y chromosome really came from? It's been vexing my fragile little mind for some time now.
Thanks,
Storm

Hello Tempest2000,
Maybe it will be mined for a story in the new shows.

I'm so happy about new Futurama episodes. The writing on that show was always top notch!
Hey Billy, you mentioned Air America. Any chance of you getting
on there to do a guest spot? Be sure to let us all know if that
happens!

I think it is logical to assume that the current stream of time is an alternate one, and in the original stream of time where fry's grandfather is his grandfather.

It's a possibility, but the alledged-grandfather wasnt exactly straight, and Fry did manage to destroy the alleged-grandfather's DNA pretty well. But skipping the alternate reality, the whole recursive path of the chromosomes in a singular reality gets kinda neat looking. Except for the pesky Y, that has no entry point.

I happen to agree with you that the airwaves need more of what you speak of above.

Actually, I was only talking about doing the show sometime, spending an hour at the studio when you happen to be in New York. And I'm not criticising your maintaining your contract with the M&M people, just pointing out that, unlike the Stern show, there are some old things you'll continue to do.

Of course you're not a guinea pig. How silly and angry of you, Billy. I was trying to get you to understand that, from OUR perspective, it would be interesting and new to hear you in an uncensored environment. I can understand completely that you have that in YOUR life already, and that from YOUR perspective, it's old news.

I'm very happy to hear that. Just taking a shot at why you wouldn't even show up for a segment on the show. Glad I'm wrong, frankly.

Now, here's where you really misunderstand my intent, Billy. I read back through many of the Stern threads on your forums here, and I see a consistent message from you: there's no money in it. So, being a fan of both you and Howard, I think to myself, that nobody here has really tried to articulate to Billy that there's a large fan base out there who misses him on Stern, and that fan base is fundamentally different than the cartoon fan base. It's also a pretty big group of people, one who would relish in spending an hour with you on the Stern show.
As far as the money is concerned, the point I was trying to make is that you've made a very nice living since then, and that money should no longer have much of an impact on whether you do an hour on a radio show or not.
I'm not asking you to go back and try to 'recreate' anything. Larry Fine, Leona, Marge and the many other characters you brought to life for us are 'work done', and yeah, when you moved on, it was great for you. I just was wondering what would possibly prevent you from showing up for a Stern show segment, say hi to the gang and your fans THERE, talk about whatever comes up and have some fun with it.
You make me out to be far more insidious than my intent actually is. And, as I said, it's your life and your career, and you'll be the one making the decisions in both of those areas, and that's just right. I just wanted to give you one fan's opinion and hope for the best.
Let's leave it at 'you're not interested' and both continue to have fun.

Not the case? Aww..Well, not like that hasn't happened before..
Everyone's pretty used to it by now. Nothing's certain til everyone(FOX, Matt Groening and others) confirm it too. So much stuff would need to be worked out for the show to be as good as it was. Great news still about Billy Bastard..something to look forward to! (any ideas on what station you want it aired on?).
Good too about the QAPete thing getting worked out. You can't REALLY tell what someone's real intentions are through a message board. Glad that was all explained.

Yeah, it is really tough to figure someone's intent via the written word. Funny that it managed to be a problem here on Billy's board, Billy being a master of the *spoken* word. The irony kills me.
Sorry to hear about the Futurama news being a mistake. As with the Stern fans, there are a lot of people who would be very excited to watch a new season of Futurama on TV. Hopefully, this misunderstanding will not be the last we hear about more new Futurama.

This is absolutely fantastic news. I absolutely love Futurama. I was so gutted when it finished. 26 episodes is excellent.
